The data collection is controlled by X’Pert data collector v.

The instrument has Bragg-Brentano para-focusing optics for Phase and ω Stress analysis and Parallel beam optics for thin film experiments. X-Ray Powder Diffractometer Phillips X’Pert MPD system is equipped with vertically mounted goniometer and Cu X-ray source. The high brilliance Cu IµS microfocus source is suitable for absolute configuration and protein screening.
#BRUKER APEX II PLUS#
It is equipped with Bruker’s latest 4-circle goniometer which combines the gold-standard high precision D8 base with the most versatile Kappa stage available, the most sensitive Apex II CCD detector for crystallography, and the unique combination of a low powered Cu IµS microfocus source plus standard sealed tube Mo X-ray source. Kappa Apex II Duo is top-of-the-line solution for a sealed tube chemical crystallography system. The facility also provides services for those outside NDSU. The XCF provides services for the needs of research groups within the university. The XCF is located in Dunbar Hall and is equipped with a Kappa Apex II Duo X-Ray Diffractometer and Philips X’pert MPD X-ray Powder Diffractometer with Thin Film Diffraction capabilities. Welcome to the X-Ray Crystallography Facility in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. You no longer need a liquid chiller, so mechanical stress is reduced.Facilities and Research Centers X-Ray Crystallography Facility The new detector is completely air-cooled. Lysozyme diffraction image, demonstrating the high spatial resolution and sensitivity of the PHOTON II. This delivers the highest sensitivity and minimises parallax, giving you the performance necessary for weak intensities. The unique design of the PHOTON II 7 CPAD detector features an embedded scintillator, optimised for home laboratory wavelengths.

Data is collected more efficiently – ideal for shared facilities and service crystallography labs. With a single monolithic sensor, there are no gaps or dead spaces between modules. Data collection is faster, with higher redundancy data for higher quality structures. This enables you to detect far more reflections in each frame. An even larger area is available with the PHOTON II 14 (10 cm x 14 cm). The PHOTON II 7 detector has an active area of 70 cm², which is almost twice the size of the previous APEX II. Shutterless mode enables you to acquire data faster, with a higher level of quality. This eliminates overhead time and mechanical jitter, which can be a problem with stop-start shuttered-mode operation. Data is collected while the sample rotates continuously. Shutterless mode gives you better data, in a faster timeframe. There are two models offering a choice of sizes.
#BRUKER APEX II UPGRADE#
We’re available to advise about upgrade compatiblity, so if you have any questions please get in touch.įor SMART APEX and KAPPA APEX owners, if you decide to upgrade later to a D8 QUEST or D8 VENTURE, the PHOTON II detector can be transferred to your new instrument, reducing the cost in future. The Bruker PHOTON II is available for these SC-XRD systems, both with new instruments and as an upgrade: 3D diffraction image of a transition metal complex (3 seconds exposure).
